Hawzah News Agency- Karbala governorate took the initial steps for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and predicted that 25 million people will arrive in the city of Karbala during the Arbaeen Walk.
The Governor of Karbala Nasif Jassim al-Khattabi said in a statement, "This week, several meetings were held with various service departments to evaluate their performance on the Day of Ashura, and they were ordered to present their plans for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (PBUH).”
He added, "The government took the initial measures to facilitate the entry of pilgrims to Karbala, including the preparation of five parking lots for the purpose of managing the traffic."
The governor of Karbala further stated that the governorate has completed the roundabout road of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) that connects Karbala to Al-Hindiya region in Babel province, and noted that efforts will be made to reduce the crowding seen at the entrances of the city during millions of pilgrimages. It is possible to supply the Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) water complex project with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters per day to provide the drinking water needed by the pilgrims.
Al-Khattabi predicted that the number of pilgrims who arrive in the city of Karbala during the Arbaeen Walk will reach 25 million people from inside and outside the country.
